CRACKING CLIMBATHON
Take up the challenge of our cracking climbathon!
On the evening of Friday 2nd July the Grand Appeal are asking you to help us fundraise £4,000 by taking part in a climbathon at Undercover Rock's Bristol Climbing Centre in St Werburgh's, Bristol.By supporting our Cots for Tots Appeal you will help support the Special Care Baby Unit in Bristol.
We are challenging you to come and help us by climbing 4K and raising over 4K, all in 4 hours! The challenge is to climb over 75 metres and raise £100 each. From complete beginners who have never climbed before to climbing experts, this event is for everyone! You do not need to be an athlete or an expert climber to take part - all that's required is a sense of fun and determination!
GREAT WESTON RIDE
Get on your bike and join the Grand Appeal team!
We are the charity partner for this year's Great Weston Ride, a fantastic sponsored cycle ride through the Mendips and Somerset Levels taking place on Sunday 18th July 2010. From beginners to experts, if you have a bike, you can take part!
The cycle ride finishes at Weston-Super-Mare, where you can meet up with friends & family and reward yourself with fish & chips on the beach!

Dragon Boat Race - Each September, the Appeal takes part in Bristol’s brilliant Dragon Boat Race, and we’d love you to get involved!
Crews of 16 paddlers (plus a drummer) will race in Chinese-style Dragon Boats over a 250 metre course. Crews do not need to be super fit or skilled to be successful – all that’s required is teamwork and a good sense of fun!
Dragon Boat racing is steeped in mythology and has been around for many thousands of years in China. Popular legend has it that through the racing, Chinese dragons would bring rain. We hope that this will not be the case on 26th September 2010! The racing will be run by leading events company The Organisation who provide the boats, helms, safety equipment, life-jackets and rescue boats. Call Lauren on 0800 919 649 for more info. |
